I don’t just say that because I’m poor (ok, that’s part of the reason) but there has actually been a study that shows that wealthy people are less ethical. How did they prove this? Well they took a couple of different scenarios, like driving and cheating at board games. They even showed that they literally steal candy from babies! Read the story after the jump!
According to a study by Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, rich people make LESS ETHICAL and downright A-HOLISH decisions far more often than poor people. Check it out . . .
The researchers found people who drive expensive cars cut off pedestrians at crosswalks about 50% of the time. People in crappy cars did it 30% of the time.
Rich people were more likely to cheat at board games than poorer people.
Rich people were more likely to lie to someone about whether their job was in jeopardy of being eliminated than poor people.
And finally, rich people took TWICE as many pieces of candy as poor people out of a jar that was marked “Candy for children.” So rich people are LITERALLY more likely to steal candy from a baby.
The researchers say this could show rich people have more of a sense of ENTITLEMENT . . . and don’t worry as much about the consequences of their actions.
I know that makes me fell better, how about you?
