Can I Just Be Skinny Already!?

So this is kind of a weird study, but there are things that you may be doing to prevent yourself from losing weight. No, Im not just talking about that 3 piece of pie or you having to eat the whole pizza because you like it warm (just me? Whatever) Something in your BRAIN could be stopping you. Also, should you use cash or credit? How does work affect you? Check out 3 little things that are making big differences after the jump!

#1.)  Trying to Eat “Healthy”.  According to a study at Yale, just thinking of your meal as being “healthy” makes your brain produce more of the hormone ghrelin.
And more ghrelin makes you feel less full, plus it slows down your metabolism.  To compensate, you should still eat healthy, but also think about the parts of your meal that AREN’T healthy.
For example, if you have a salad, focus on the cheese or the salad dressing, which are both packed with calories.
#2.)  Buying Groceries with a Credit Card.  A study in the “Journal of Consumer Research” showed that you’re less likely to buy junk food if you use cash.
Basically, using a card makes you lose track of how much you’re spending, and you buy more impulse items . . . which don’t tend to be very healthy.
#3.)  Zoning in at Work.  When you sit at a desk for hours on end, your body stops producing a fat-inhibiting enzyme called lipase.
That’s one reason you’re supposed to stand up and stretch at least once every hour.  If you do, it can boost your metabolism by 13%.
