If this starts to pick up in the US I think Facebook is going to get even worse! So apparently you are no longer allowed to have a “Best Friend” in some schools in the U.K. (What?) Teachers are actually banning students from having one and instead forcing them to socialize in groups. I don’t know about you, but having a best friend made it a WHOLE lot wasier getting through school. From not walking home alone, to having someone to cheat off of in math class. What possible reason could they have to ban kids from having a cheating buddy!
Educational psychologist Gaynor Sbuttoni explains:
“They are doing it because they want to save the child the pain of splitting up from their best friend. But it is natural for some children to want a best friend. If they break up, they have to feel the pain because they’re learning to deal with it.“REALLY?! Has it gotten that bad out there? First EVERYONE gets a trophy and now they don’t want them to have seperation anxiety? Dealing with loss both physically and emotionally is part of life and taking that away from someone could SERIOUSLY damage them in the future. Don’t you think the “friends” kids have now a days are watered down enough with Facebook? Bring on Armaggedeon!
