Let’s take a moment and discuss the greatest invention of all time. Breasts. Yes, I know they aren’t technically an invention but let’s face it, if they didn’t exist Apple would have made them and we would all be carrying them around in our pockets. The reason I bring this up is because there is a new book out called “Breasts: A Natural and Unnatural History” that gives us all these little tidbits of information about my favorite subject. “And what is that class?” ” Breeeeaassstts” Well done. #1.) Women’s breasts are BIGGER THAN EVER.
#2.) The average-sized breast in the U.S. is at least a C-cup, although some studies have found it’s more likely a D-cup.
#3.) The average U.S. breast weighs just over one pound and can double during pregnancy.
#4.) The largest enhanced breast in the world is 21 POUNDS. It’s a size 38-triple-K and contains the equivalent of 2.6 gallons of liquid. (AHHHH!! It’s gonna eat me! …. what a way to go.)
#5.) Before there were silicone breast implants in the mid-1900s, women tried making their breasts larger by surgically stuffing them with glass balls, ivory, wood chips, peanut oil, ox cartilage, and candle wax. That all sounds safe.
#6.) More than 5 million American women have implants.
BONUS FACT: They are great stress reducers. Ok maybe not a FACT but it works for me!
