You Mad Bro?

Have you been on edge lately? For example, you specifically ordered your Mocha Frappe with a shot of Vanilla and when you take that first wonderful thirst quenching, ice cold sip you realize that they FORGOT it! Now usually this is a forgivable offense but not TODAY! For some reason you begin to contemplate the ways you can chop up the baristas body after you brutally murder her behind the coffee shop with a spork…just me? Let’s move on. The reason for this could be blamed on the heat outside. For years we have used the excuse “oh sorry, I didn’t mean to kick your cat but it’s just so hot outside that I’m a little tempermental lately” Well good news for you cat kickers! Science has totally got your back on this.

It’s been the warmest six months in United States history (on the mainland), and if the heat wave is getting to you, you’re not the only one. According to a new study, we all get a bit cranky when it’s hot out.

Researchers at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University had a look into the matter and have come up with some logical reasons as to why that’s the case. They found that heat and humid weather is associated with aggression and violence, and an overall worse mood. The main reasons for that are that people have more trouble sleeping in the heat at night and dehydration affects them during the day.
There’s no question that everyone loves some sun, but that’s mostly if you’re on vacation or are chilling by the pool. Doing regular, everyday activities like going to work, sitting in traffic and running errands blows when it’s sweltering hot and you’re sweating like you’re in a sauna.
So if your temper has been hot and your blood has been boiling, just try to cool off, literally and figuratively, because it’s just the heat testing your patience.
