Did anyone get that Austin Powers reference? Doesn’t matter. So I haven’t really cared about this story much but the voicemails got my attention. Manti Te’o was on with Katie Couric last night and he actually had 3 voicemails left by the person pretending to be his fake girlfriend Lennay Kekua.

It’s hard to tell if the person leaving the voicemail is a man or a woman. Milton Grimes, who’s a lawyer for the apparent mastermind, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, says the hoax was a one-man show, and that it IS Ronaiah on the phone, impersonating a woman’s voice.

The voice is pretty convincing! So if it is Ronaiah then he is a talented voice actor! Check out the voicemails and Ronaiah’s actual voice after the jump!

Grimes also says, quote, “This wasn’t a prank to make fun. It was establishing a communication with someone . . . it was a person with a troubled existence trying to reach out and communicate and have a relationship.”
