To Jam Or Not To Jam?

A theater in New York is about to debut a play that uses PEARL JAM’S music to create a, quote, “rock and roll adaptation of’ Hamlet‘.”  All of the songs used in the play will be live versions of Pearl Jam songs. It’s a modernized version of“Hamlet”, of course, that takes place on the Lower East Side of New York.  And when Hamlet sees ghosts, it’s while he’s tripping. The play is only running for this weekend at the HERE Theater in New York.  If you love Shakesspeare AND Pearl Jam then this is probably going to be the best show of your life.

Gwen’s Tragic Kingdom

Gwen Stefani from the band No Doubt and her long time husband Gavin Rossdale of Bush may be on the rocks. According to a source, Gwen may be considering a “trial seperation” because she doesn’t feel like she can trust him anymore. “Things have gone from bad to worse and they don’t know how to fix it. They’ve been through a lot and while Gwen’s putting on a brave face for the sake of the kids, she’s not sure she can save their marriage,” a source told British magazine Closer. Their relationship was rocked when a paternity test revealed Gavin had previously fathered Daisy Lowe with ex-girlfriend Pearl. Courtney Love also claimed that she’d had an affair with him. Since Gavin is going on a 6 month tour with his band they may give seperation a try.

MCA Park In Brooklyn

Adam Horovitz is working to have a Brooklyn park named after late Beastie Boy Adam Yauch. Horovitz’s wife and Bikini Kill and Le Tigre frontwoman Kathleen Hanna has posted on her Facebook page ‘Rename Squibb Park in Brooklyn Heights to Honor Adam Yauch’.She reveals that Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz is working with the Parks Commissioner to get a different park named after Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch as a tribute to the late rapper, filmmaker and activist. Squibb Park is named for inventor and pharmaceutical pioneer Dr. Edward Robinson Squibb and is currently being remodeled as a skate park. They would either like to see that park renamed or the State Street Park where Adam actually played as a kid.

Facebook created 2 lists for Valentine’s Day with Spotify. A playlist of songs that people listen to when starting a new relationship and a playlist for those ending a relationship. Some of the choices I definitely question, for example. “Hot To Love” is on the NEW relationship list. When did Lil Wayne mean Romance? And Surprisingly Adele only made the Break up list once. Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine is launching his own record label called 222 and Glee star Matthew Morrison is officially Adam’s first signed act.

Billboard reports that Adam can’t wait to start making music with Matthew.

‘Starting my own label has been a long time goal of mine and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening,’ Adam wrote in a statement. ‘I am excited for everyone to hear Matthew’s forthcoming album. Great things are in store for him with this release.’

Matthew shares Adam’s sentiments about their upcoming collaboration.

‘I am excited to be working on my next album with such an incredible singer, writer and producer as Adam Levine,” Matthew gushed. ‘Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together.’

Matthew’s second studio album will be released on Adam’s label in the spring.

 

Violent Or Unnatural Death

Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment in London over the weekend. According to the doctors who performed her autopsy her caused of death wasn’t discovered. They believe that Winehouse may have suffered an Unnatural or Violent death. Although at the scene of her death the police reported that is was non-suspicious.
