YAY TECH!

It seems like just the last 10 years that tech has really taken over our lives! Although Youtube and Facebook feel like they have been around forever to me. I don’t know what I would do without tech in my life other than be bored all the time and most likely have better eyesight. I came across some crazy tech facts that are pretty interesting and at the same time mind blowing to think about. Especially since I remember having to make room on my phone so I could get new text messages. Plus the iphone I had last year I had to download an APP to shoot video! Now they are making commercial with them! So tech is moving fast and I love it! Seriously, how does anyone get ANYWHERE without GPS?

TGI Friday’s? …..Really?

With all the “check-ins” now on our smartphones, it was only a matter of time before we started wondering where the most popular places in the world are. So that’s what Facebook did. They analyzed all their data to find the 25 most popular landmarks in the world. Among them you find the Colosseum in Rome, Wrigley Field in Chicago and oh yeah, T.G.I. Fridays in Norway (WHAT?) First problem I have with this is that T.G.I. Fridays in more popular in Norway than at any other location in America. Really? Has no one tried their onion rings? I mean, seriously. Delicious. The second problem I have with this is that I have no idea where Norway is and therefore should not be allowed on the list, and/or access to Facebook. When you really think about it though, how can you be mad? They apparently love Fridays and wish that they were in a place that always felt like it was Friday once you got inside. Who doesn’t enjoy Fridays? Ok, Norway. I’ll allow it. If you want to see the rest of the places in the world that are popular then just click the jump!

How Sad Are We? This Sad…

When a bug flies by me I turn into this screaming little girl, waving my hands and running in circles trying to get away from it. It’s not pretty. This is a fear that I share among several other people across the globe. Not weird. However, do you know that feeling you get in your stomach when you reach into your pocket and realize you forgot your phone at home? That is called Nomophobia and it has been declared the most common fear in the world. THE WORLD! 66% of people in the world suffer from some amount of Nomophobia. Not snakes, not drowning or falling LOSING YOUR PHONE.

Sadly I can believe it because I am a suffer-er. I think I am going to start a help group. Would you join?

Quiet PLEASE!

I’m not a big fan of “quiet” because I would rather not sit and think about things. Yes, that probably means I have some psychological problem that stems from having ……”la la la la la I can’t hear you” What were we talking about? Oh yes, some people just want some “peace and quiet” when they get home from work. I’m assuming that is where these scientists in Minneapolis got the idea to create the quietest place on EARTH. They built a laboratory that is 99.99% sound absorbant which gives them the world record. HOWEVER, it has an unpredicted side effect that could make you Continue reading

Say Bye-Bye To Your BFF

If this starts to pick up in the US I think Facebook is going to get even worse! So apparently you are no longer allowed to have a “Best Friend” in some schools in the U.K. (What?) Teachers are actually banning students from having one and instead forcing them to socialize in groups. I don’t know about you, but having a best friend made it a WHOLE lot wasier getting through school. From not walking home alone, to having someone to cheat off of in math class. What possible reason could they have to ban kids from having a cheating buddy!

Educational psychologist Gaynor Sbuttoni explains:

Death By World Record

We all know there are some WEIRD world records out there. It might even be on your bucket list to attempt to break one. Here is one that you probably won’t be attempting to break any time soon. On Saturday a man in Sri Lanka attempted to set the world record for “Longest time buried alive” and let’s just say… it didn’t end well. He was buried in a coffin 10 feet underground for 6 and a half hours, and when the family dug him up. He was DEAD!

I know you are asking the same question I am. “Soooooo, did he set the record or not?”
